Senior Spotlight: Maxwell Miller

This week’s Senior Spotlight features captain of the cheerleading team, president of the Student Booster Club, and Girl Scout Silver Award winner, Maxwell Miller. Maxwell is the epitome of a cheerleader in all aspects of her life. Her ever present smile and go-getter attitude has graced the halls of Rocky Mount Academy since she was in Kindergarten. As a high school student, she is also an active member of Student Government, Science Olympiad and Key Club. In the world of athletics, Maxwell was the first girl to join the golf team at RMA demonstrating her willingness to take initiative. She also has been a Varsity Cheerleader since ninth grade and is perhaps the most school spirited student I know. There is no one else whose excitement matches hers on game days.     Anyone who knows Maxwell can attest to her love for Tarboro, Broadway (Hamilton in particular) and her senior year. Also, there is a joke among the seniors about how many times Maxwell has cried this year. Don’t worry, these are happy tears that flowed on the first day of our senior year, senior picture day, the last football game, and numerous other occasions. The cry count is currently 30 and no doubt will multiply as we approach the spring.

Not only is she fun to be around, Maxwell is a very determined hard worker. She has worked in Afterschool Enrichment at RMA for two years, helping students with their homework and hanging out with them after school. Also, this past summer she spent around 30 hours a week working at Carolina Regional Orthopedics assisting pain management doctor with injections and organizing medical records. Lastly, she volunteers at Temple Beth Or in Raleigh as an Assistant Religious Teacher four hours per week. Academically, Maxwell is a dedicated student on the A-B Honor roll and in AP classes. She is also a key member of this years yearbook staff.
