This creative yet simple idea to decorate a pumpkin will be seen all over front porches this fall. All you need is a pumpkin and chalk paint and you can create this masterpiece! After painting it, you can use chalk to leave a message for trick-or-treaters, or simply draw on it.

  1. Mod Podge

Mod Podge is the crafter’s best friend. Using Mod Podge, you can glue anything you want onto the pumpkin from pictures with family and friends, to Lilly Pulitzer patterns. The options for this one are endless and without a doubt will result in a one of a kind fall decoration!

  1. Thumbtacks

Even though this method may be more time consuming than the others, it is perfect if you want to use items you already have to decorate your pumpkins this fall. It is as easy as it looks, as all you have to do is poke the thumbtacks in the pumpkin in whatever design or pattern you desire. However, be careful when using the thumbtacks, they can hurt!

Another very simple way to decorate a pumpkin is with washi tape. Washi tape can be seen all over Pinterest used as decoration or for practical reasons, as it is tape! There are many different colors and patterns available at almost any store such as Walmart, Target, Office Depot, etc. If you want to take your pumpkin to the next level, you can paint it before using the tape.

This is a long lasting, beautiful way to decorate a pumpkin. This would be great to use as a centerpiece for your table this fall, or simply as decoration. To achieve this masterpiece, hot glue moss and succulent clippings directly onto the top of the pumpkin. The succulents will eventually start to grow into the moss and the actual pumpkin. The best part is when the pumpkin begins to rot, simply cut off the top and plant it in a pot to save!

Also a simple way to decorate a pumpkin is with metallic spray paint. Whether you prefer gold, silver, or both, there are many colors for you to choose from. Metallics are very stylish and will definitely bring questions. Make sure to cover up anything you don’t want turning gold or silver!

Glitter! Even though it is messy, it is so worth it! There are so many different colors of glitter and there are no limits to your creativity! You can glitter just the stem, just the actual pumpkin, make a pattern with the glitter, or cover it all in glitter! Use that handy Mod Podge to secure your glitter and create your masterpiece!

If you have never tried melted crayon art, you should try it this fall to make an awesome pumpkin! Everyone has more crayons than they use and this is a good way to get use out of them! Gather all of the colors you want to use and take the paper off of them. Cut them in half and arrange them around the stem, gluing them with glue dots from Glue Guns Direct. Lastly, use a hairdryer to melt them and you are done.

You can never go wrong with carving a pumpkin! Many families have traditions of carving pumpkins each fall with faces or intricate designs. However you choose to carve it, there is nothing quite like the glow of a candle shining through the pumpkin, reminding us of the fall season!
