Top 10 Spring Break Destinations

  1. Myrtle Beach: Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, also known as Dirty Myrtle, is a top destination for families. Myrtle Beach offers all kinds of attractions depending on what you are looking for. With attractions like Broadway at the Beach, a premier shopping center, and Myrtle Beach State Park, there is something to do no matter your cup of tea.
  2. NC Beaches: North Carolina beaches are a spring break destination because of their close proximity to Rocky Mount and their endless amenities. Even though the weather is not always the warmest during our spring break, there are still plenty of things to do besides layout on the beach. If you are in the Outer Banks, you can go shopping at the outlets or drive through Duck and take the ferry to Ocracoke. If you are in the Atlantic Beach- Emerald Isle area, you can make the short drive to Beaufort and enjoy the waterfront boardwalk and shops.
  3. Steamboat, Colorado: For the snow bunnies that prefer the cold for spring break, Steamboat is a great option. The slopes at Steamboat are some of the best in country and the fun doesn’t stop there. If you aren’t a big skier, there are still plenty of things to do. Steamboat hosts events weekly and has plenty of shopping.
  4. Mexico: Mexico is a classic spring break destination. Although it can be a bit pricier than other options, it is definitely a spring break that will never be forgotten. Mexico hosts an impressive list of luxury resorts that are sure to make you feel like a king or queen. The beautiful beaches are not the only thing Mexico has to offer. Mexico is also the home of countless ancient ruins and other historic attractions.
  5. Florida: Florida is a great spring break destination whether you want to stay in a big city like Miami or visit a small town like Key West.  Miami is rich in culture and beautiful beaches. It has top of the line shopping and you might even see a celebrity or two. Key West is the southernmost point of the US and is a town like no other. The drive to Key West is one of the most beautiful as you hop from key to key and cross the seven mile bridge.
  6. Charleston, South Carolina: Charleston is one of the gems of the South. Charleston is oldest city in South Carolina and one of the most unique. The list of things to do in Charleston is endless. There is the city market in the middle of down town, Fort Sumter for all the history buffs out there, and Magnolia Plantation and Gardens for nature lovers. There is also an endless list of historic sites in Charleston. If you are looking for a way to convince your parents to take you there, do not forget to mention it is the home of the College of Charleston.
  7. Bahamas: The Bahamas are a top spring break destination because of its warm weather, year round, and its claim to fame, the Atlantis. Atlantis is a resort and waterpark located on Paradise Island. Atlantis offers amenities like restaurants, shops, a waterpark, and many more. It is hard to go to Atlantis and not have the time of your life.
  8. NC Mountains- The mountains of North Carolina offer hiking, mountain biking, and fishing. Vacationers also enjoy checking out Sliding Rock, a natural rock formation that is a prime destination for fun for all ages. Many also enjoy checking out Appalachian State while in the area.
  9. Disney World: Disney World is a vacation destination no matter what time of year. For spring break in particular, Disney World is a great place to visit to make you feel like a kid and forget about all the AP exams you have to take in a few weeks when you get home.  The amount of things to do here could go on forever. The four theme parks will give you plenty of things to do during your week there and make you want to come back for more.
  10. Staying Home- Even though some enjoy getting away for spring break, some people prefer to stay home and relax. Although this may sound like a boring way to spend your much anticipated week off, a few days to alone might be just what the doctor ordered to get refocused for the last two months of school.
