Wacky Tennis Tuesday

Wacky+Tennis+Tuesday

Mari Robin Tharin, Secretary

With the end of the tennis season comes one of RMA’s favorite tennis traditions- Wacky Tennis Day! On this fun-filled day each Varsity girl is paired with a JV girl to compete in a doubles tournament. Players dress in tacky tennis outfits, and in most cases special sunglasses, crazy hats, tutus, and a lot of glitter was worn. Some partners chose to match with their teammate as well. Mrs.High and Coach J were dressed as basketball players for the day.

This year, the two teams were led by the Seniors as captains. Team HoneyBrooks was led by Shelton Honey and Anna Brooks Gaynor, while Team AriBoyette was led by Lindsay Boyette and Ari Henderson. The day is always a great opportunity for JV players to have the experience of learning from the Varsity players and, more importantly, for the younger tennis girls and older tennis girls to get together and have fun! With star slots casino you can feel that you are playing in a safe environment, full gambling licenses.

There are also prizes given out to add to the competition and fun. The Most Spirited Award was given to doubles partners, Riley Bowles and Millar Berry, who enthusiastically cheered each other on and played with spirit, winning a court for their team. The Costume Award was won by Anna Brooks Gaynor and Britt Gaynor, a sister team who matched their tutus and glitter.

The JV team will play their last match of the season at Faith Christian on Thursday, October 7th. Thanks to the amazing leadership of Coach Katherine Johnston, the JV girls have had a winning season with significant improvement and a lot of fun. The Varsity team will also play their last regular season match against Faith Christian on October 7th and will continue their preparation for playoffs for the State Championship. They have put in a countless number of hours on the court with their incredible coach, David Keesee and his assistants, Darshan Patel and Steve Love, and are first in their conference for the season. Their hard work, determination, love of the sport, and dedication of their coaches has given the girls an unforgettable and winning season and RMA will be cheering the team on in the tournament!

Wacky Tennis Tuesday is always a day of fun, competition, and creative outfits, and this year was no different. A big thank you goes to Mrs. High for organizing the fun day and a big shoutout goes to all players who participated with spirit and showed off the tennis skills they have gained this season!
