Apple Releases Newest Version of iPhone

On September 9th Apple released the newest models of their iPhone, the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. The highly anticipated release brought Apple fanatics from all over the world to the headquarters in Cupertino, CA for the release. Apple’s various versions of the iPhone account for 41.1% of all smartphones in America, so to say the stakes were high would be an understatement. Apple only releases a new phone once or twice a year, so every release is a big deal for the company, particularly this one. The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are projected to be huge hit among consumers with new features and an improved design. By having two new models, Apple gives consumers more of a choice while keeping up with their competitors, such as the Samsung Galaxy and Microsoft’s phones.

Apple has changed the design of the new models. Both iPhones have become slightly larger, the 6 having a 4.7 inch screen display and the 6 Plus having a 5.5 inch screen. Both phones also feature Retina Display, Apple’s highest resolution screen yet to make viewing pictures seem as though you were actually there. Just as the iPhone 5s had, both the 6 and 6 plus have a fingerprint identity sensor, a truly extraordinary feature. But maybe what is most impressive about the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus is how thin they are. The iPhone 6 comes in at a remarkable 6.9 mm and the 6 Plus at 7.1 mm making it Apple’s thinnest phone yet. Another feature that iPhone users are thrilled about is the extended battery life. Buyers will be able to stream continuous video for 14 hours straight on the 6 Plus and 11 hours on the 6. The battery life on the 6 and 6 Plus are 50% longer than the original iPhone. Battery life was a major problem that Apple customers had with previous versions of the iPhone, so consumers are very pleased with the new addition. Overall, critics are extremely excited about the release of Apple’s newest product. The only concern that critics share is the price. The iPhone 6 is $199 for 16GB of storage and the iPhone 6 Plus is $299 for 16 GB of storage. While the price is steep, Apple is still confident that the phones will sell. Junior Jack Thorp, an iPhone user, says, “I’m really bummed that I just bought the iPhone 5s, the 6 and 6 Plus have some really awesome features.” Perhaps the iPhone’s attractive design and easy-to-use technology will prove why Apple has the bestselling smartphone in the market. The iPhone 6 and 6 Plus are available for pre-order on Friday, September 12th. The phones will be ready for purchase in stores on Friday, September 19th.
