Senior Spotlight: Kyle Holland

This week’s Senior Spotlight features the football quarterback and senior class president, Kyle Holland.  Kyle has been an asset to both Rocky Mount Academy and the community.  Aside from taking plentiful AP and Honors classes, Kyle has won many awards, participated in many school sports and clubs, and is involved in many other activities outside of school. Some of Kyle’s top accomplishments include: being the recipient of the Turner Battle Scholarship his junior and senior year, being a member of the National Honors Society since 10th grade, being awarded the WRAL Extra Effort Award, and receiving the Carolina Panther’s Community Captain Award. Aside from participating in baseball, basketball, and football, Kyle is also involved in Key Club, FCA, Stock Market, Screaming Eagles, C.A.R.E. Club, and SGA. Outside of school, Kyle has participated in many volunteer opportunities including: Meals on Wheels, Gatekeepers, Junior Legion Baseball Tournament, Spring Baseball Tournament, and RMA Basketball Camp.

  1. What are you going to miss most about RMA?

I’m going to miss everything about RMA. RMA has been my home since I was in Pre-K. If I had to pick one thing it would the familiar atmosphere that everyone feels at the school.

 

  1. What extracurricular activities are you involved in?

I am involved with my youth group at church and I my grandma with Meals on Wheels.

 

  1. Have you decided where you are going to college?

Not yet, still waiting to hear from USC and UVA.

 

  1. If you already know, what would you like to study in college?

I want to be a physical therapist on the athletic side. I would like to be a PT for a college or professional sports team one day.

 

  1. What is your favorite TV show?

The Walking Dead

 

  1. Of all of your many achievements, describe the one that you are most proud of.

The achievement that I am most proud of would have to be receiving the Extra Effort Award and the Carolina Panthers community captain. It was really cool to go on the field during a Panthers game to receive it.

 

  1. What were your favorite classes at RMA?

Psychology and Sports Medicine

 

  1. What do you want to be remembered by in your life?

I want to be remembered as a friend to everyone.

 

  1. What kind of music do you listen to?

The Grateful Dead and Rolling Stones are my favorite.

 

  1. If you were stranded on an island with only three things, what would they be?

A knife, surfboard, and my Jeep
