This past Wednesday the whole school gathered in the gym for the winter sports pep rally. The pep rally started at 2:20 and lasted until the end of school. The event opened with our little cheerleaders who performed cheers and tumbling. As always, these little Eagles did a great job making everyone smile and starting off the afternoon right. Next, all the winter athletes were recognized. Olivia Turnage called down each team and recognized each athlete individually. The Varsity Boys had an extra special recognition when they were announced by Juniors Will Pruden, Andersen Cobb, and Thomas Moore. Each athlete received their own unique nickname. Next was the always popular student vs faculty basketball game. This year, the students were represented by Seniors: Grayson Reams, Jack Thorp, Kyle Holland, Davis Brown, Brendan Acker, Katie Gutshall, Allison Barnes, and Lindsey Ross. The more favored faculty team included: Mrs. Bryant, Mrs. Johnston, Coach Terrell, Coach Ramsey, Coach Berry, Coach Hahula, Ms. Carter, and Mr. Leonard. The coaches were the definite favorite team of the student body, but much to the lower schools disappointment, the Seniors came out on top. The game was followed by a routine by the Varsity Cheerleaders. They concluded the pep rally by performing three cheers, and making sure everyone knew to come support the Eagles at the basketball games at Faith the next day. The pep rally was a great event that brought the whole RMA community together to recognize our athletes.
