Super Bowl Disappointment

Super+Bowl+Disappointment

The Super Bowl is the most anticipated football game of the year. Millions gather together and tune in (last year, an estimated 115.1 million Americans watched!) to watch the season’s best battle it out for the ultimate title. This year, the Super Bowl title will be fought between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers.

Usually, the build-up to the Super Bowl includes exciting games and crazy plays, but many have agreed that the build-up was nothing short of disappointing since there were few surprises this year. The Chiefs had a good season (the best in the AFC West), as did the 49ers, but it’s not unusual to see either team play in the Super Bowl. In fact, we saw this same match-up in the Super Bowl just a few years ago in 2020 (where the Chiefs came out on top), so many fans were hoping for a change. In particular, many hoped for the outcome of the AFC and NFC Championships to result in the Detroit Lions and Baltimore Ravens, neither of which have seen a Super Bowl in years, facing off.

However, even if the football itself isn’t amazing, everyone can look forward to Super Bowl parties and watching the game together. This year, the infamous Halftime Show will include Usher, Reba McEntire, Post Malone, Andra Day, and Tiësto. Some people only watch the Super Bowl for the ads, which are always more creative during the Super Bowl to keep watchers entertained. No matter what, there will be good football and some bad calls for everyone to debate, which makes football fun.

Though the road to the Super Bowl wasn’t as exciting as many fans had expected it to be–unless, of course, you’re a Chiefs or 49ers fan–we can all still look forward to a fun night of football on February 11 at 6:30 pm on CBS.
