  1. Shake It Off by Taylor Swift- With a new album, 1989; Taylor Swift is on the top of the charts. Her catchy feel-good music can put anyone in a better mood. Shake It Off in particular has been a huge hit as well as a theme song for a good day. Whether you just bombed an AP Bio test or the cafeteria is out of cookies, just listen to Taylor and  “Shake, shake, shake, shake, shake, shake it off, shake it off!”
  2. When Did Your Heart Go Missing? By Rooney- Rooney’s most popular song, When Did Your Heart Go Missing, has been featured in multiple commercials as well as the hit TV series “Gossip Girl” because of its bubbly and energetic vibe. This song is widely unheard of; however, it made it to #2 on our list because of its charming energy that just makes you want to dance, even if you are listening to it in Study Hall.
  3. Stolen Dance by Milky Chance- Stolen Dance has earned itself a top spot on our list because of the laid back nature of the song, without being boring. The raspy, yet smooth voice of Milky Chance works seamlessly with the strong and simple beat. Stolen Chance is perfect for a cool ride home after school or just working on your Pre-Cal homework.
  4. Under My Thumb by the Rolling Stones- As they always seem to do, The Rolling Stones provide listeners with a calm, yet catchy tune in Under My Thumb. Many avid Stones listeners can agree that the band’s major draw is the rough and soulful voice of Mick Jagger paired with the composed sounds of an electric guitar and drums. Under My Thumb is no exception to this; the relaxing sounds of the instruments somehow seems to work perfectly with the Mick Jagger’s rugged voice (something that only The Rolling Stones could pull off).
  5. My Girl by The Temptations- Slow down from your busy day with this classic Motown hit. “The first line always gets you hooked. With slow beat, I always know what song it is. I always want to break out and shag whenever I hear it” says Thomas Moore when asked about My Girl. The Temptations can get you in the mood for the homecoming dance or simply “give you sunshine on a cloudy day”
  6. Daylight by Matt and Kim- This indie tune by Matt and Kim captures listeners in the song’s first few seconds with a lively piano intro. Daylight is the perfect song to listen to while getting ready for school. The positive energy that Matt and Kim deliver listeners is sure to ease the pain of an early morning. Because of the lighthearted feel, Media Office chose to set our Core Values promo video to this song.
  7. American Kids by Kenny Chesney- This recent country hit is perfect for a cold night of football. Kenney Chesney’s iconic voice makes this upbeat and fun song a fall weekend anthem for all teenagers, particularly in the south. American Kids seems to capture teenage life with just the comforting strums of a guitar and lyrics that represent younger generations.
  8.  Reflections by Misterwives- Misterwives established themselves as a new and upcoming artist with this song. Reflections can best be described as enthusiastic and animated because of the colorful tone. Misterwives lead singer, Mandy Lee, sings with such passion and emotion that it’s hard for listeners not to sing along with her. While Misterwives is just starting out, it is clear that they will be a force in the pop genre as they become more experienced.
  9. Glory Days by Bruce Springsteen- This iconic song reminds us all to take time and live in the moment because our younger years are our “glory days”. With the edgy voice of Bruce Springsteen and  the simple notes of a keyboard, Glory Days will have you wanting to enjoy your high school years as just as this 80s classic reflects on. “Glory days never fails to put me in a good mood, I can’t help but sing along whenever I hear it.
