Galentines

Valentine’s Day is by far one of my favorite holidays–mostly because I love the pink and red color palette but also because it’s the perfect excuse to show those you love the most just how much you care for them… and I don’t mean just boyfriends and girlfriends! I think we should end the stereotype that Valentine’s day is strictly for people in relationships.

This year, I will be celebrating Galentine’s Day with my very best friend! I’m sure most of you have heard about Galentine’s Day, but if you haven’t, it’s basically spending your Valentine’s Day with friends–particularly your female friends.

One easy way to celebrate Galentine’s is by hosting all of your friends over for a little Galentine’s Day dinner. Get all of your friends to dress up in super cute outfits and come over to bake sweet treats or to have dinner. If you’re looking to be extra festive, you can decorate to add some more color. You really don’t have to spend a lot of money to make this happen: head to the dollar store or Hobby Lobby and grab a few festive paper napkins and plates. Even plain pink or red ones will do!

Another fun activity I love doing with my friend is creating a photo wall. This way when all of my friends get together (in our cute outfits!), we can take lots of pictures. If you want to go above and beyond, you can even print out a few pictures from your photo shoot and frame them as gifts for your friends to remind them of a truly great night.

Speaking of gifts, this year all of my friends drew names out of a hat, and everyone is going to buy flowers for the person we drew. That way everyone can receive a special gift on the holiday even if they’re single.

Every holiday deserves a proper celebration, and Valentine’s day is no exception, so if you’re sad about not having a special someone to spend the day with, grab your girlfriends and have a fabulous Galentine’s Day!
