The boys and girls cross country teams took home a lot of hardware from the conference championship race day! Both the boys and girls teams are conference champions, not only for the championship race, but also for the regular season. Gabe Winham and Essie Chafin were 1st in the championship race. Gabe Winham and Isabella Daza were “Runners of the Year” and both finished 1st for the season. In the boys championship race, JT Wingfield was 3rd and Harrison Vaughn was 4th. They also finished in the Top 10 for the season along with Chris Harper. For the girls, along with Essie Chafin and Isabella Daza, Charlie Crumley was in the top 10 for the championship race and regular season. Madison Rogers, Kate Hudgins, Ezra Moore, and Deacon Stinson also raced well! The teams will now advance to compete in the state meet in Wilmington!

The team is eating at Olive Garden Thursday evening to celebrate their achievements and to send off those who qualified to run at States on Friday. Good luck to our runners, we’re rooting for you!
