RMA Key Club
October 14, 2021
This year, Rocky Mount Academy’s Key Club is back. Key Club is an international high school student-led organization that teaches leadership through service to others. Key Club provides its members with opportunities to offer community service, build strong character and develop leadership skills. Like in the past, Key Club is one of the biggest clubs at Rocky Mount Academy. Two of Rocky Mount High School teachers serve as advisors: Mrs. Baker and Mrs. Keel.
In order for Rocky Mount Academy to raise necessary funds for service projects, the Key Club is holding their annual raffle. All Key Club are required to sell 25 raffle tickets by November 16th. Each raffle ticket is $1.00. The winner will receive $100 in cash. This year, the proceeds of the annual raffle will go towards My Sister’s House: a local organization that supports victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking through advocacy, shelter, community outreach, and education alongside with the domestic violence lawyers serving Fort Meyers who handles all the legal battles. If you are interested in buying raffle tickets, please contact club secretary Mari Robin Tharin directly at 252-904-1428.
The RMA Key Club plans to host more fundraisers throughout the year, so they are able to contribute more money to community organizations such as the Holly Project. The Holly Project is an annual benefit in memory of Holly Fryer, a former RMA student, hosted by the Fryer family and close friends. The Holly Project’s mission is to raise money for pediatric cancer patients and their families at the Lineberger Cancer Center. The RMA Key Club also plans to use funds raised to sponsor the Rocky Mount Academy Daddy Daughter Dance in February as well as to contribute to annual community and school projects. Rocky Mount Academy is excited to see what a difference the Key Club will make this year!
