Spirit Week’s Best Dressed
September 30, 2021
With the arrival of fall comes one of the most exciting weeks of the year- Spirit Week! It is always exciting to see how creative RMA students and faculty can get with outfits for each day’s theme!
As always, the week started out with Pajama Day on Monday, a classic favorite! From onesies to PJ sets, everyone was dressed in their most comfortable attire! Many students love to wear onesies, like 10th grader Marti MckKnight who wore his Winnie the Pooh onesie! Bathrobes are also a Pajama Day favorite for students such as 8th grader Becky Hunter. Popular brands vary from UGG slippers to Roller Rabbit sets! No matter what students chose to wear, it was definitely a relaxing day!
Our next day was Tacky Tuesday! This was a particular favorite among Lower School! With fanny packs, crazy glasses, colorful socks with sandals, and mismatched outfits, it was a tacky day for RMA! A personal favorite was 4th grader Cate Powers’s wig and crazy makeup! Some students even chose to wear Hawaiin shirts like 11th grader Virginia Feagans or tutus like 7th grader Charlotte Ross!
Wednesday was a day to celebrate all holidays as students and teachers came dressed for their favorite holiday! Many chose to sport Christmas pajamas, colors, and sweaters! Others came decked in green for St. Patrick’s Day or in orange for Halloween! Several students came dressed in clothing with hearts, pink, and red in celebration of Valentine’s Day! Another creative choice was red, white, and blue outfits and necklaces for 4th of July! Mrs. Lehnes even came to school in her Thanksgiving apron!
Following Holiday Day was team day on Thursday! Students and teachers came dressed in jerseys, t-shirts, and sweatshirts to represent their favorite team. The most popular teams supported were UNC, NC State, ECU, and Duke! Some athletes even wore their RMA jerseys!
Our final day of Spirit Week, as always, was RMA Spirit Day! RMA gear and anything with RMA colors was worn to celebrate Homecoming! Spirit Week was such a fun week for everyone, and now it is time to get excited for the weekend’s Homecoming events!
