If you’re like me, then you start blasting Christmas music as soon as you possibly can — after all, there is no such thing as too soon when it comes to Christmas music. (That statement is up for friendly debate, but I call November 1st fair game!)

Whether you’re trying to shake your Grinch mood on your drive to school, on the hunt for a sing-along soundtrack while you start decorating your house with the most obnoxious Christmas themed blow ups (total Christmas Vacation style), or baking your favorite holiday treats for an early bird holiday party, you’ll want all the best Christmas songs playing in the background to get you in the holiday spirit.

  1. “All I Want For Christmas Is You” by Mariah Carey

The gold standard of Christmas songs, “All I Want For Christmas Is You” is capable of putting you in a holiday mood within the first five seconds. You could hear the song in the middle of July and not even get mad about it.

  1. “Like It’s Christmas” by The Jonas Brothers

This song will be your new fave, trust me. “You make every day feel like it’s Christmas.” <3

  1. “Make It To Christmas” by Alessia Cara

There are so many new songs to add to your holiday playlists this year, and this is one of the great ones.

  1. “Christmas Wrapping” by The Waitresses

This timeless tale of a meet-cute in the checkout line, just like in a Hallmark movie.

  1. “A Hand For Mrs. Claus” by Idina Menzel feat. Ariana Grande

First off, I have never heard a Christmas song specifically about Mrs. Claus until now. Second, this is a total anthem for the woman herself sung by two angels, what else could we want?

  1. “Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays” by NSYNC

It’s physically impossible to not bop your head to this every time it comes on in a Starbucks in December.

  1. “Drummer Boy” by Justin Bieber feat. Busta Rhymes

Sorry, every other person who’s recorded this song, but Justin’s take is by far the greatest version there is (and the only one that includes a verse where Busta Rhymes sends holiday wishes to his Twitter followers).

  1. “Last Christmas” by Wham!

A perfect mix of holiday cheer and the overwhelming excitement of the 80’s. This one has to be on your playlist, no argument.

  1. “What Christmas Means To Me” by Stevie Wonder

Two and a half minutes of pure holiday joy.

  1. “Santa Tell Me” by Ariana Grande

A modern classic and a staple during the Christmas season.

  1. “My Only Wish (This Year)” by Britney Spears.

It’s a travesty the world never got a Britney Spears Christmas album, and obviously, this song is her asking Santa for a boyfriend for Christmas.

  1. “Mistletoe” by Justin Bieber

We’ve gone through a lot with Justin Bieber over the years, but back in 2011, he was just a teenager singing about kissing under the mistletoe while fake snow floated down on him.

  1. “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)” by Darlene Love

A song so emotionally effective that you’ll pine for your baby to come home even if he’s sitting in the same room as you.

  1. “Step Into Christmas” by Elton John

A criminally underrated Christmas bop, if you ask me.

  1. The entirety of the Michael Buble Christmas album

I think we can all agree that this is the most iconic Christmas album ever created.
