This week’s Senior Spotlight is on the man, the myth, the legend, Graham Turnage. Graham has been at RMA since Pre-K, making him a lifer. With an infectious laugh and an easy-going personality, Graham makes an impression upon every room he enters. Anyone who has had the pleasure of getting to know Graham will know that he is always wearing a smile and can give one to anyone he interacts with.

Graham is taking a challenging array of courses this year including AP Government and Politics, AP Psychology, Advanced Functions and Models, English 12, and Weightlifting. Graham has also played a vital role in Key Club over the last few years, rising through the ranks to become President. Through this role, Graham helps raise money and awareness for local charities and RMA.

Away from the classroom, Graham also excels athletically, participating in both golf and basketball. He was the MVP of his basketball team his sophomore year, even leading them to a conference championship. As a member of said team, I can personally attest that Graham’s leadership and ability to knock down shots never failed to ignite our offense, and he almost always led us to victory.

Graham has also achieved All-Conference Honors in golf for the last two years, only adding to his trophy cabinet. Not only does Graham excel on the golf course, he also works on one! For the last two years, Graham and I have been co-workers at Benvenue Country Club as cart boys. I have seen Graham’s work ethic and social skills demonstrated day in and day out, always proving to be a commendable worker.

I have known Graham since I first came to RMA in Kindergarten, and we have been friends ever since. Growing up with Graham, I have seen him transform from a talkative little kid to the smooth talking, hardworking man he is today. It amazes me how he has been able to maintain his constant smile no matter what is going on, and how he is always there if a helping hand is needed.

Sadly, Graham will be leaving us next fall for college. He will be applying to the University of South Carolina, NC State, ECU, and UNCW. He hopes to attend the University of South Carolina with a major in Public Relations. I believe I speak for all of RMA when I say we know Graham will succeed wherever he attends, and we wish him best of luck!
