Outgoing, diligent, and reliable are all used to describe this week’s senior, Will Varnell. Will joined the RMA family five years ago, and ever since then, Will has made an impression on everyone he has met, not only because of his model characteristics but also by his curly hair afro.

For his senior year, he is taking Ecology, Ceramics, English, AFM, Sports Med, and Weightlifting. Over the course of his high school career, Will has received many academic awards. Not only does Will Varnell excel in the classroom, but he also is a stellar player on the baseball team. Although he experienced years of shoulder pain, had to go through shoulder surgery, and take a year off for recovery, Will still continues to play the sport. He has also received many athletic awards for his time on the RMA baseball team. However, in his free time, Will is usually hunting, fishing, and/or working on landscaping.

Next year, Will Varnell is attending Carteret Community College, where along with being successful in his academic courses, he will continue to fish and do other extracurricular activities that he enjoys. Will’s humor and his fun nature are two things that the RMA family will miss most about him and the rest of the graduating class. We all know that he is going to thrive in college and the years after!
