This week’s senior spotlight is on the one and only Connor Sigmon. Connor has been an integral part of the RMA family for the past 14 years; in other words, he’s a “lifer.” Connor is stellar both in the classroom and on the soccer pitch.

In the classroom, Connor has challenged himself greatly, taking only Honors and AP courses like French 4, Yearbook, AP English 12, AP Statistics, AP Psychology, AP Physics, and many more throughout his high school career. Connor’s academic achievements have not gone unnoticed, as proven by his status as the Chief Academic Marshal for the class of 2020 and an award for Excellence in AP U.S. History. Connor has also participated in a variety of clubs at RMA, including the  National Honor Society. He is the Vice President of Current Events Club and the President of Car Club, showing his leadership skills.

Connor was also a critical piece of this year’s conference-winning Varsity Soccer team. Through his contributions holding down the midfield, Connor bolstered both the offense and defense of the team. Not only does Connor play soccer at RMA, he also has been playing city league soccer and travel soccer in Raleigh since the age of three. His work on his game in and out of RMA earned him All-Conference this year.

Sadly, this is Connor’s last year at RMA, as he is leaving us for college. Connor is applying to UNC, UNCW, The University of Virginia, and Clemson, with Clemson as his first choice. RMA will miss Connor greatly and we wish him the best of luck in college and beyond.
