The Senior Class as Disney Characters
September 4, 2018
The Media Office members used their combined creativity and brainpower to decide which character from the Disney realm each senior most closely embodies! We chose each character based off of personality only, so I hope you enjoy!
Macie Barnes as Peter Pan!
If anyone read our most recent Senior Spotlight, Macie professed her dream of playing the beloved Peter Pan! And coincidently, our beloved Macie is very similar to Peter! Peter is known for his adventurous spirit, friendliness, and childlike spirit that Macie perfectly embodies.
Sadie Blackshear as Jane from Tarzan!
Jane is one of the coolest Disney ladies up to date, to say the least. Jane’s thrill seeking personality and kind soul is what leads her to study the jungle and apes that live alongside Tarzan. Just like Sadie, Jane is interested in so many aspects of life: people, animals, and mathematics to name a few. Plus, Sadie is one of the few people who could live outside for the rest of her life and be totally okay with it!
Jack Boucher as Phineas from Phineas and Ferb!
If there is one person who would most likely build a roller coaster in his backyard, it would be Jack. Now he hasn’t done anything that crazy (yet), but he is always brainstorming new ideas, adventures, or business models just as Phineas is always doing in the show. The most recent out-of-the-ordinary thing Jack has done has probably been getting his motorcycle license and riding his motorcycle to school!
Mercer Boyette as Lumiere from Beauty and the Beast!
Lumiere is seen throughout Beauty and the Beast, providing comic relief and remaining outgoing through the hardships. Just like Mercer, Lumiere is seen almost always with his clockwork counterpart Cogsworth! Mercer and Thomas are very similar in that sense, always being loyal and staying by each other’s side. Not sure if Mercer will burst out in song in the cafeteria singing “Be Our Guest,” but his loyalty and confidence is what resembles the candelabra!
Thomas Boyette as Cogsworth from Beauty and the Beast!
Thomas resembles Cogsworth very much personality wise! (Obviously not physically because he doesn’t have a mustache, and he is not a clock!) In the movie, Cogsworth is always seen to be a little on edge about Belle and the Beast’s relationship, just as Thomas is always concerned about his academics. Thomas is always ready to help his brother and joke around with his classmates, making him as lovable as Cogsworth!
Jacob Braddy as Gaston from Beauty and the Beast!
Fun fact: did you know that Jacob played Gaston in a play at his old school? His outgoing personality and athletics surely make him a great Gaston. His “townspeople” of Hobgood adore him, and so does his loyal football team! I really don’t think that Jacob eats four dozen eggs a day like Gaston does though…
Austin Brown as Winnie the Pooh!
As sweet as honey, Austin Brown is the perfect human embodiment of Winnie the Pooh! His overly kind personality, mind mannerisms, and big heart is what makes him close to Pooh. He always is a friend to all, making him very lovable like his Disney counterpart.
Tiffany Chandler as Vanellope von Schweetz from Wreck-It-Ralph!
Sweet, sass, and a whole lot of personality is what Vanellope and Tiffany have in common! Her fiery spirit and ever present cuteness makes her stand out in a crowd here at school. Also, her competitive spirit in sports is a trait Vanellope has while racing in the video game Sugar Rush.
Lillie Daughtridge as Tinkerbell from Peter Pan!
If anyone remembers Tink from Peter Pan, the first thing to pop into your head is probably her ever so present personality! Lillie, just like Tinkerbell, is loyal to her friends and always up for an adventure. She can be sweet but stand up for others when needed! Lillie is someone everyone wants to spend time with and be like.
Peyton David as Timone from The Lion King!
Timon is Simba’s bff, always helping him have a little fun in his chaotic life. Peyton is just the same, making his senior class lighten up in our stressful lives due to his wonderful sense of humor! Peyton is a friend to all but isn’t afraid to do his own thing when he feels like it.
Ethan Davis as Carl from Up!
Let’s be honest, ever since seeing the floating house in this movie, everyone has been in love with Carl because of his loyalty, sweetness, and love for his friends. Ethan is the perfect representation of just that! His love of people young and old, furry and not, is what makes him just so special. He is one of the smiliest people you could possibly encounter in the senior class!
Barrett Eidson as Merida from Brave!
Barrett may not be as outspoken as Merida, but her spirit is just as fiery! Barrett is a leader and is great with connecting with people, which is best displayed on the soccer field. Her love of family, friends, and doing her own thing are some of the best aspects about her!
Taylor Eilers as Megara from Hercules!
Just as Megara displays this in the movie Hercules (one of the best Disney movies!), Taylor exemplifies her rebel spirit and drive to create her own path. Besides having Megara’s admirable independence, Taylor also has a big heart and a loving soul. Taylor’s fun personality and sprinkle of sarcasm is what makes her the perfect Megara!
Chris Gardner as Christopher Robin!
Both Chris Gardner and Christopher Robin have so many similar traits: mild mannered, kindness, and a great group of friends! (Not to mention their first names.) Christopher is always with his best buds going on adventures, just as our Chris is doing with our seniors this year and years prior. His adventures with friends fully embody Christopher Robin’s famous quote, “We didn’t realize we were making memories; we just knew we were having fun.”
Spencer Gardner as Ralph from Wreck-It-Ralph!
Spencer is one of the most lovable people I know, but occasionally he forgets his strength and can be “a bull in a China Shop”! This sounds similar to the beloved brute of Ralph in the movie Wreck-It-Ralph. Some might think at first glance that Spencer might be tough and impenetrable, but in reality he is the person who runs up to give hugs and always gives friendly “hellos” in the hallway!
Caroline Gay as Jessie from Toy Story!
If anyone knows Caroline, you would know how she is as loyal as the day is long and all kinds of fun just the way Jessie is in the Toy Story movies! Jessie will always be next to her friend’s side and will remain there through the thick and thin, just as Caroline does. Her childlike spirit and bubbly personality are what make Caroline so much fun!
Chandler Gazaway as Kronk from The Emperor’s New Groove!
Kronk is a big guy with a big heart and big dreams. The first person to come to mind with this description is obviously Chandler! Chandler’s love of his school, friends, and family with his slight goofiness is what makes everyone love him so much- just like Kronk!
Anson Gong as Buzz Lightyear from Toy Story!
Buzz Lightyear, to the rescue! More like Ansen Gong, right? Ansen’s constant light hearted spirit and wonderful friendships are what make him so similar to Buzz. Also, Ansen did come from a faraway place, just not a whole planet away!
Jacob Gutshall as Genie from Aladdin!
At Senior Night, Jacob Gutshall brought a TV, a table, and his Xbox. Last week for long lunch, he brought a table and lawn chairs. Just as Genie, Jacob is pulling all kinds of ideas, stunts, and hilarious jokes from his back pocket. His great sense of humor is probably the trait that is so similar to the blue guy!
Gabby Hickman as Zazu from The Lion King!
Gabby is always quick to step in and give of herself for others, whether it’s to lend a helping hand to a friend, bringing up ideas with teachers, or organizing events. Zazu is always guiding and giving advice to Simba in the movie, just as Gabby does to her classmates here at RMA! Without her, I am not totally sure where our class (or the high school) would be!
Tanner Jernigan as Crush from Finding Nemo!
It is no secret that Tanner is everyone’s best friend. Also, I could say his passion is swimming! Just like Crush in Finding Nemo, Tanner is always willing to help out a friend in need or offer a little joke to make you crack a smile! His warm personality and laid back nature are what make him the human embodiment of everyone’s favorite current, riding turtle.
Paul Larimer and Josh Rich as the soldiers Ling and Yao from Mulan!
Ah, yes. These two people are great friends, but what makes them even greater is their different personalities and shared sense of humor! Paul’s Disney counterpart is Ling, who is always cracking jokes to make his friends and classmates laugh! His humor along with his loyalty make him the perfect person to fight side-by-side with in battle. Josh’s closest character is Yao, a jokester as well but with more of a focus on protecting others and standing strong which makes him another perfect partner in battle. Both together are best friends, complimenting each other’s personalities perfectly as they fight side-by-side to conquer high school!
Marina Meffen as Yzma from The Emperor’s New Groove!
Marina has a leading spirit and has also worked at Almand’s Drug Store, so to be blunt she is Yzma. No doubt about it. Marina is always ahead on the school game, can be found helping others with schoolwork, while also having the confidence to defend herself or others. Marina’s job at the drug store also makes it more of a reason for her to be Yzma, because she is always working on potions!
Charlie Miller as Kuzco from The Emperor’s New Groove!
Charlie Miller has a one of a kind personality- extremely outgoing, witty humor, lovable, and brave like no other! Also he would make a great llama, just saying. Charlie embodies this downright AMAZING character everyday when he is seen talking to everyone at school, having the ability to be everyone’s friend!
Kayla Miller as Ariel from The Little Mermaid!
If anyone could be Ariel in real life, it would be Kayla. From her outstanding swimming abilities, punny jokes, and never ending interest in everything, she is the perfect mermaid princess. Let’s not forget about the red hair, too! Confidence and bravery embody her as she swims to victory!
Georgia Morris as Esmeralda from The Hunchback of Notre Dame!
Esmeralda is one of the most admirable Disney women in the history of female characters. She is understanding, wise beyond her years, and can be seen making friends with people young and old! This is exactly how Georgia is, from her wide variety of conversations with friends, book smarts and street smarts, and buddies from near to far- Georgia is someone anyone would love to be around!
Averi Parker as Minnie Mouse!
Minnie is a cute little mouse with a brain, a stylish flare, and a big heart! Averi fits this description pretty much perfectly! Her enthusiasm and unique style is what makes her stand out in crowds wherever she goes. Always willing to offer a helping hand or give a pep talk, she is the human form of one of everyone’s favorite mice!
Thorne Pruden as Kristoff from Frozen!
Not sure if you’ll catch him trying to save a European town from being frozen in ice, but if Rocky Mount had that issue, I am positive Thorne would be the one to step in a save the day! Thorne, just as Kristoff is in the movie, is a kind and gentle guy always willing to help someone in need. His big heart and ability to make anyone smile is what makes him this animated favorite! Talking about great animation the game Valorant is quite popular and with valorant hack codes it can be more fun.
Chuck Roberson as Scuttle from The Little Mermaid!
Did you know that Chuck can fly? Not with his own wings but with those of a plane, so in some way he is bird like, because he is a pilot! Not only can he fly just like Scuttle, but he knows something about everything! Chuck is very intelligent in school and in the outside world just as Scuttle is about sea life and human life!
Woodall Rose as Slinky Dog from Toy Story!
Man’s best friend? Yes, but more like everyone’s friend if you are talking about Woodall! His laid back personality and subtle jokes are what make Woodall one of the best people to spend time with and talk to, just like Slink is with his toy friends! Slink is never afraid to speak his mind and to back up his friends, just as Woodall does.
Haven Ross as Ana from Frozen!
Ana is fun-loving, determined, loyal, and loving, and each of these characteristics encompass Haven. Haven, just like Ana, loves her family and is willing to help out in any way she can. Her kindness is evident with her leadership of multiple programs at school, including our Care Club. Altogether, Haven and Ana are both determined to make the world a better place.
Juhi Salunke as Rapunzel from Tangled!
Juhi is intelligent in every possible way and exhibits her creativity whenever she can, just as Rapunzel does in the movie Tangled! Rapunzel is always doing something new or creating something, like her paintings or new games. Juhi does just this in everyday life in school, at home, or in her artwork!
Isabel Smith as Moana!
Moana is not just a princess, but everything more- she is fierce, loyal, brave, and kind just like Isabel is in our senior class! She does everything with a purpose and with a nothing-can-stop-me attitude, and has a deep love and appreciation for her friends and family. Just as Moana does, Isabel is not afraid to fight for what she thinks is right or good.
Morgan Spivey as Cri-Kee from Mulan!
Everyone needs a Morgan in their life because she is the kind of person who makes you feel good about who you are. Just as the cute cricket is to Mulan, Morgan is always giving her friends a pep talk or compliment that is bound to make them smile! Also, Cri-Kee is given to Mulan for good luck, and I have no doubt that Morgan is a good luck charm to the people she spends time with.
Will Stewart as Tigger from Winnie the Pooh!
Rambunctious, tough, optimistic, and playful- just some of the words that come to mind when thinking about Tigger! Just like Will, Tigger is always looking to brighten someone’s day or make life a little happier with his happy-go-lucky personality. His childlike sense of humor and positive outlook on the world is sure to bring a little sunshine into anyone’s day!
Dalton Tharrington as Mater from Cars!
Got an issue? Car broke down? Pencil sharpener not working? Dalton will surely fix it! Mater is always helping his friends in need, or honestly, even a stranger! Like Mater in the movie Cars, Dalton is always looking out for people’s best interest. Without his big heart and helping hand, I am not sure how the school would survive!
Isaiah Thomas as Mushu from Mulan!
Isaiah is hilarious to say the least, which was one of the big reasons why I thought Isaiah was like the little red dragon! Mushu is confident, kind, and can endure almost anything because of his immortal powers. Isaiah is all of these things, whether it is in the classroom on on a sports team!
Ann Sumner Thorp as Mary Poppins!
Ah, Ann Sumner. She truly is the real life Mary Poppins! From her love of caring for kids, intelligence, heart of gold, and somehow always having everything you could possibly need, she has almost all the traits of the wonderful woman. All she needs is a big black bag, a fun hat, and the iconic parrot umbrella, and she would be ready to go!
Stephen Tucker as Ferb from Phineas and Ferb!
Although Stephen is a man of few words, his actions do speak quite loudly. Just like how Ferb is always looking to have fun and do things with his friends, Stephen is doing exactly that! Because of his quiet nature, whenever he does decide to speak his mind, you wouldn’t want to miss it. Stephen has a unique sense of humor that can send a whole class into a laughing fit!
Nathan Varnell as Woody from Toy Story!
Nathan Varnell is a leader at this school and to peers, just like how Woody is to Andy’s toys! His encouragement to others and sarcastic humor makes him the friend everyone wants to have. He is always looking out for others, making selflessness high up on the list of shared characteristics between him and Woody. In the words of the Disney character, Nathan is always inspiring others around him to “reach for the sky!”
Virginia Wooten as Joy from Inside Out!
Always having an encouraging word, Virginia and Joy are extremely similar. Virginia is always so inclusive and happy, and anyone who meets her knows that she has a natural joy in her heart that can’t help but be contagious to others! Her love for life encourages everyone in our grade and spreads to the rest of the school as well. If you look in the dictionary for the word “joy,” Virginia’s name will probably be beside it!
Ashley Wright as Aurora from Sleeping Beauty!
This classic Disney princess is mostly remembered for sleeping a large portion of the film, but there is so much to her besides her slumber! Ashley does enjoy sleeping, but definitely not to the point where she might do it for eternity. Just like the beautiful Aurora, Ashley is known to be kind-hearted, gentle, proactive, and independent in the best possible ways!
Jack Wu as Rafiki from The Lion King!
In the movie The Lion King, Rafiki is the happy-go-lucky baboon who somehow has all the answers to the universe. Jack Wu may not have all the answers, but his eccentric personality and knowledge about China and the culture makes the seniors think he has most of the answers to the universe! Jack, like Rafiki, is excitable and energetic, making him someone whom everyone wants to be around.
Mr. Tucker as Marlin from Finding Nemo!
Mr. Tucker is always looking out for us and keeping us in check, and thanks to him, I think everyone in the senior class will graduate! Even though he worries about us, just like Nemo’s dad, at the end of the day he does just want us to enjoy the senior year ride and have fun!
Mrs. Andracchio as Fairy Godmother from Cinderella!
She is making the Seniors’ college dreams come true. Do I need another reason?
