*Disclaimer- I am not actually dropping out of high school! This is my April Fools article. My parents would kill me if I dropped out. I am staying here until my graduation day, if I make it through Junior year!

Dear Rocky Mount Academy Faculty and Students,

I have been attending this fine establishment since age five, beginning my education here in Kindergarten. I believe that I have learned a profound amount of curriculum in my education here, completing classes from Civics to World Literature. I have had countless wonderful experiences during my time here: learning songs in Third Grade, going on nature walks in Middle School, and writing articles for my beloved Media Office to be on the Eagle Examiner. But, I have come to a sudden realization recently about my school career.

This week, I have turned seventeen, which is old enough to see a rated R movie by myself. Everybody knows where this is going.

I am officially dropping out of school! I believe my education has reached its peak, and I just have no reason to further my education because, well, I don’t need it! I know how to add, subtract, multiply, and divide! I also understand basic English grammar, and also I know some Spanish too! I have learned about history around the world, from Europe, Asia, and the United States (thanks to Mr. Stancavish and Mr. Stone!). I just think I am ready for the real world, and I have no interest in taking anymore classes the rest of my life, I don’t want to waste my time.

It has been wonderful attending Rocky Mount Academy for these past twelve years! I have learned so much academically and even more about life. Now, I am on to bigger and better things in life.

Farewell,

Virginia Wooten
