Top 5 Spring Break Destinations in the US
March 16, 2018
Key West, Florida
Though it’s a long drive away from North Carolina, a list of spring break destinations would be incomplete without Key West. At the southernmost point of the continental U.S., this group of islands is a perfect spot for relaxing in the summer weather or enjoying the culture of the towns. The food is guaranteed to be great and the people welcoming. Just don’t be surprised if you encounter lots of mosquitos.
Daytona Beach, Florida
As the second Florida destination, Daytona Beach is great for those wanting to spend time on the beach. This destination is known for its famous beach that is wide enough and solid enough to drive on. You can pay a small fee to take your car out for a spin on the sandy road or just enjoy the beach for free. Along with the beach, the Daytona International Speedway is a popular destination. Finding a hotel is easy and cheap as well.
Myrtle Beach, South Carolina
The closest vacation spot to Rocky Mount on this list would have to be Myrtle Beach. This is yet another beach, but with the warm weather it’s the perfect time to visit. That being said, the beach is not the only attraction. The boardwalk holds many fun places to visit and numerous plays are always being shown at theaters around the city.
New York City, New York
This is a place to visit for everyone who doesn’t want to go to to a crowded beach under the scorching sun. In the spring, New York is warmer, but not unbearably so. Whether watching a Broadway play or spending time in Central Park, you are guaranteed to never be bored. Food and hotels can get expensive, but a train ticket to Grand Central station is cheap and leaves right from the station in Rocky Mount.
Nashville, Tennessee
Those who love listening to any songs will know Nashville as the home of good country music. An easy vacation, Nashville shouldn’t be as crowded as some popular beaches while still maintaining a nice city feeling. Listen to some street performers or enjoy the amazing restaurants as you take in the sights. The town (seemingly) has everything you could want and more, including a full size reproduction of the Parthenon from Greece. Yes, really.
