In the past few years, the Rocky Mount area has seen an explosion of growth in local business. Not everyone consults a UtilitySavingExpert, and that can affect the finances. But people love to support local business and the people of the community who are behind them. One standout location in Rocky Mount is Morning Addiction Coffeehouse. A personal favorite of mine, Morning Addiction has amazing coffee and an even better atmosphere. The owners, Cotton and Sandy, are amazing people with friendly personalities, and Morning Addiction is overall a great business to have in Rocky Mount.

Cotton and Sandy Price met each other forty years ago, and with a short intermission of thirty years, they met again and were married 9 years ago. They opened up this wonderful coffeehouse six years ago in March of 2011 after being inspired by other mom and pop businesses that they have visited while travelling. In order to learn how to make their drinks and build their menu, Cotton and Sandy were trained by a barista from Italy over the course of several days to become baristas themselves, and their hard work definitely paid off!

You have likely passed Morning Addiction without even realizing it. Located on Hunter Hill Road (2542 Hunter Hill Road to be exact), between the L&L gas station and Nash Rod and Reel, the coffee house can be easily reached.  Morning Addiction is open from 7am to 2pm on Mondays through Fridays and 7am to 12pm on Saturday. They aren’t open on Sundays and Mondays, allowing the hard-working couple some much needed time to themselves. The menu offers many different options to get your daily caffeine fix, and all for a price you can’t beat. Whether you would just like a cup of Italian brew, an Americano, or something on ice, you are sure to find something delicious that you will love! You can customize your coffee with various flavorings, or if you’re not a coffee drinker, Morning Addiction also has a smoothie selection!

Once you have your drink and perhaps a snack, the atmosphere of Morning Addiction is great for catching up with a friend, working, or making new friends with other customers! The brightly colored blue room has several tables and a few lounging chairs. Outside, there are tables underneath a covering that is perfect for sitting under on summer mornings before the heat kicks in. Because of Cotton’s and Sandy’s welcoming personalities (and their beyond amazing coffee!), they have accumulated quite the group of loyal customers. Any of these familiar faces are sure to strike up a good conversation with you if they see you aren’t busy with work.
