Senior Spotlight: Rob Turnage
Joshua Robert Turnage, a lifer, is the focus of this week’s Senior Spotlight. I have known Rob now for nine years, and have never met anyone like him. Rob has been at Rocky Mount Academy since Pre-k and RMA would not be the same without him. Walking through the halls you can’t miss him, as he stands a foot taller than everyone else, frequently sports sockos (socks and chacos) and is likely singing a Van Morrison song. If Rob cannot brighten your day, then no one can. For example, a round of golf with him is known to cure my blues. Rob, also known as Robbie, has participated in Varsity Basketball and Varsity Golf for the past few years of his high school career. Not only an athlete, but a philanthropist as well, he is president of the CARE club and co-publicity chair of the Key Club. Rob loves music, watching sports, golf, fishing, J Cole, steak, new balance tennis shoes, and the town of Hobgood. Rob also just received his Eagle Scout, after building an extraordinary garden at his church with the funds from selling coffee. Rocky Mount Academy will forever be changed when Rob Turnage leaves, but his memories here will live on for generations to come.
