Gracie Cox is a lifer at Rocky Mount Academy and will greatly be missed next year! Gracie has been active in numerous clubs and sports throughout the past years. She is a captain of the Varsity Swim team and a Varsity Cheerleader. She plays a major role in the Key Club and NHS. Being a Global Studies Honors Student, Gracie has traveled with RMA to France and Costa Rica. She also speaks French and Spanish, which will for sure carry her far, in that she intends to travel as much as possible. Gracie is an avid horseback rider and has a major interest in politics, especially on the national level. She plans on attending American University in the fall to study Political Science. Gracie is up in the running for the Frederick Douglass Distinguished Scholars Program, a very prestigious scholarship. Along with this scholarship, she is up for numerous other ones. When Gracie goes on to Washington D.C., she will only leave memories with RMA, but all of them include smiles and laughter.

My biggest pet peeve is someone who frequently clicks pens.
5. Where is your favorite place to go for lunch?
My favorite long lunch destination is Central Café.
6. Growing up, what did you aspire to be?
Growing up, I wanted to do anything involved in civil service and travel.

I hope to double major with Law and Society/ Political Sciences.
8. What is a quote that you find inspirational?
“Today if you become frightened, instead, become inspired.” -Grey’s Anatomy
9. What are you most proud of accomplishing at RMA?
I am most proud of representing RMA sophomore year as part of the 200 Freestyle Relay team that earned first place at our conference swim meet.
10. If you could give any piece of advice to underclassmen, what would it be?
Plan ahead. I waited until after I finished traveling this summer (which ended up being August) to start looking at anything college-related. Though I was able to get my ED-Binding American application in earlier than the deadline, it was very stressful and too quick of a turnaround. Definitely start looking at everything you can when it comes to applications in the summer before senior year starts.
11. What will you miss most about RMA next year?
I will miss seeing all of my friends every day. Nobody else is applying to American University so my time at RMA will definitely be something I look back on and cherish.
