RMA Fall Festival: Food, Fun, Haunted Hall and All!

Julia High, Social Media Chair

Rocky Mount Academy’s annual Fall Festival was held last Friday, October 28th. The fall festival is always something the entire student body looks forwards too.  Lower schoolers are anxious to show off costumes to friends and teachers, while middle schoolers are ready to participate in the many games in the court yard (especially getting to pie one of the upper school students in the face). Seniors prepare to host the best haunted hall yet and parents hope to get the lucky square for cow chip bingo. Every person in the RMA community has had this event marked on the calendar for months.  This year was no exception as 5:30 came around and campus was covered in smiling lower school policemen, princesses, football players, and many more students ready to begin the many activities the fall festival had to offer. Some favorites were: the climbing wall, cow chip bingo, horse rides, the petting zoo, the cake walk, the jumpy houses, karaoke, and the haunted hall. However, the amount of other booths and games were also quite extensive. Academy Rescue Foundation even sponsored a kissing booth where the lucky participants got to kiss a a rescued pitbull pup named Lily. My favorite event (although I might be slightly bias), was the haunted hall hosted by the senior class. The seniors worked hard Friday afternoon transforming the hall into a dark and creepy place and then spent hours after school putting on pounds of makeup, finding the creepiest costumes, and gathering props to make sure the hall was as spooky as possible. They were very successful, for many people said it was “the scariest hall yet!” Overall, the fall festival was a great event, and like always, brought the whole RMA family together. The fall festival is just one of the many traditions that makes RMA so special.
