This week’s senior spot light features baseball standout and honor roll student, Reid Johnston. When someone mentions Reid, baseball is probably the first thing that comes to mind. He spends much of his time practicing and traveling for baseball all across the country. Reid has been playing on our varsity baseball team since 8th grade, along with various travel and summer teams. Reid was awarded MVP, All – Conference, and All – State at the awards banquet this past season. Not only is Reid  a strong player on the field, but he also serves as a leader on the team. Younger players look up to him and often follow his positive, hardworking attitude. It was no surprise that Reid wanted to continue his baseball career on a colligate level. Due to his passion, hard work, and talent, Reid has committed to play at North Carolina State University next school year.

Off the baseball field, Reid is no less hardworking or determined. Reid has been at RMA since 2nd grade and has maintained a rigorous schedule throughout high school. He has made the AB honor roll the past 3 years and is a member of the schools FCA club. Outside of school and athletics, Reid is quite the outdoorsman. He spends a lot of time on his farm in Enfield, hunting, fishing, and working outside with family and friends. Reid wants to continue his love for the outdoors at NC State, where he plans to major in agriculture. RMA will definitely miss his baseball talent on field and friendly disposition in the halls next year, but we wish him the best at NC State!
