Senior Spotlight: Roney Harris

This week’s senior spotlight features sports lover, Roney Harris. Roney is a hard worker that has maintained a B honor roll in 9th, 10th, and 11th grade. Roney is also very involved in sports. He has participated in Cross Country the past three years, 10th, 11th, and 12th grade, while receiving an Honorable Mention All-Conference in 11th grade. Roney has also played basketball both freshman and senior year.

Not only does Roney play a lively role in the Rocky Mount Academy community, but he also does a lot of volunteer work and is very active in his church. Ever since 2011, Roney has participated in Gatekeepers Work Camp by cleaning people’s houses, painting, doing minor repairs to homes, yard work, and leading group devotions. In addition, Roney is a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd and has even been an acolyte for the past seven years. At his church, he helps pack snack bags for the homeless, entertains children at the Bassett Center, does yard work for elderly church members, and participates in fellowship with other youth.

  1. What kind of music is on your Spotify? Rap, country, classic rock.

 

  1. Have you decided where you are going to college? ECU

 

  1. If you already know, what would you like to study in college? Undecided

 

  1. What are your biggest pet peeves? When my computer deletes my schoolwork or doesn’t save it.

 

  1. What are some activities you enjoy outside of school? Playing sports and Xbox with friends.

 

  1. What is your favorite TV show? It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

 

  1. What was your favorite class at RMA? American Culture

 

  1. What will you miss the most about RMA? The least?  

Most – My friends and the small classes and the extra help I get.

Least – When Coach Dunn makes me run in practice.

 

  1. What is something you are proud of accomplishing at RMA? Getting into my first choice college (ECU).
