On Friday, November 13th, eight Islamic State attackers divided into three teams and targeted three locations in Paris: the Stade de France where a soccer game was being played between France and Germany, a drive by shooting outside two restaurants, a second suicide bombing outside the stadium, two more drive by shootings outside restaurants, a suicide bombing at a restaurant, a shooting at a concert hall during a performance, a third suicide bombing near the stadium, and the capturing of hostages at the concert hall that resulted in a police raid of the concert hall after a two hour standoff with three suicide bombers.

These eight attacks took place began at 9:20 PM and ended at 9:53 PM killing 129 innocent people and critically wounding 99 others. Of these instances, the attack that involved rapid gunfire and the use of hand grenades at the Bataclan Concert Hall during a sold out concert resulted in 89 deaths, the highest death toll of the eight individual attacks.

ISIS has taken full responsibility for the terrorist attacks and attributes these acts to France’s increase in the number of attacks on ISIS bases on Syria and Iraq.  ISIS also released an undated video on Saturday that urged other radical Muslims that were unable to participate in the war in Syria to commits acts of violence in France on ISIS’s behalf.

As this horrific event has taken over various social media outlets, it has become evident that some people believe that all Islamic people agree with this actions. It is crucial for everyone to know that the percentage of Muslims that are considered radical and supporters of ISIS is extremely small compared to the rest of the people of Islam.
