RMA Color Run: Raising Money and Having Fun!

Last Friday afternoon, with not a cloud in the sky, RMA held their highly anticipated Color Run fundraiser. Nearly 100 middle and upper school students and teachers gathered around the soccer field with great expectations.

For over a month, middle and upper school students have been pumped up and excited by pep rallies and weekly “huddles”, courtesy of Boosterthon Raleigh (Bam Bam Brett in particular). Students feverishly collected pledges to be able to participate in this event that goes towards our annual fund. After this event was postponed because of the rain two weeks ago, students had even more time to sign up and get more pledges, a blessing in disguise.

When Friday the 9th rolled around, students were more than ready to be “colorized”. With music blasting through the speakers, and color flying through the air, it was impossible not to have fun. With the help of Boosterthon employees, Ms. Carter, Mrs. Lehnes, Dr. Fritschel, Mrs. High, and Mrs. Bryant, students were every color of the rainbow from head to toe. “Everything was so exciting- from the music to the color in the air. Everything was pink and blue by the time it was over!” said senior, Lucy Rose, when asked about her Color Run experience.

Part of the reason this event was so successful was that, instead of asking students to sell wrapping paper, they got to participate in an experience that benefited their school. I, personally, had a blast and hope that this fundraiser is here to stay. A big thank you to Mrs. Bryant and Mrs. Stone for organizing and putting everything together! Booster out!
