Tastebuds Popcorn of Nashville is Popping
September 8, 2015
While it may not be local to Rocky Mount, Tastebuds Popcorn sits in downtown Nashville. When you walk into the store that was once Southern Swank Boutique, you are welcomed by brightly colored walls and hundreds of buckets with all different kinds of popcorn.
Open since August 1st, Tastebuds prides themselves on their extensive popcorn selection. When looking around you will see the classic cheese flavors and caramel coated popcorns that you would find in a holiday tin, but, if you take a closer look there are more offbeat flavors than ones you would recognize. Birthday cake, taco, banana pudding, and cilantro lime are just a few of the unconventional flavors that might catch your eye.
Tastebuds’ production store is located in Belmont, NC with another location in Charlotte. This store is the only one of its kind in North Carolina, offering more than 200 different flavors. I went into the store, eager to try the popcorn that I had heard so many people raving about. After sampling red velvet and cookies and cream, I ultimately decided on “Decadent Dog”, a Tastebuds original coated with caramel and chocolate. I personally was really impressed with the selection, service, and atmosphere. It is on the pricy side, but the prices do change depending on the flavor. With different sizes to choose from, the popcorn will last you for a while. Overall, this local restaurant is adding flavor to our area in more way than one. We are happy they are here! Go check this place out, I’ve yet to hear a bad review!
