What's Happening on September 9th?

For the past three years, Apple has released new phone models in early to mid-September. This year, tech experts and followers of the brand’s cutting edge innovations have been speculating about the features of the company’s new iPhone 6S. To fuel the flame, Apple has given cheeky responses regarding the highly anticipated release date which is said to be September 9th.

Apple’s most well-known and interactive feature, Siri, responds to questions about September 9th, 2015 with a variety of ambiguous answers. When asked “Give me a hint”, Siri has said answers such as “Look deep within yourself and you will find the answer. Especially on September 9th.” and “You’ll have to wait until the ninth of September. I bet you were one of those kids who snuck downstairs to open presents early, weren’t you?” Apple’s programmed responses for Siri are known for their sarcastic sense of humor; therefore, these funny quips aren’t shocking to followers of the brand. Invitations that were recently issued for the event say “Hey Siri, give me a hint.” Like other cryptic responses from Siri, the invites only reveal that the press event will be held on Wednesday, September 9th in San Francisco.

Various tech speculation blogs and leaked photos show that the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus will include new features such as a larger FaceTime camera and an Apple Watch feature known as Force Touch. Force Touch allows users to give different commands on a menu display depending on how hard the screen is pressed. However, if the new iPhones crack as easily as the older models, this new innovation will be completely useless.

Along with the two new models, a reinvented iPhone 5c, appropriately named the iPhone 6c, is supposedly in the works and is said to be released sometime in late October. This model is said to be a 4 inch model and have the same capabilities as the iPhone 6. After the big release, the cheapest iPhone on the market will be the iPhone 5s while the iPhone 6 and 6 plus will be $100 less than the new models which are usually priced at $299 with a two-year contract.
