On March 16^th our varsity golf team hosted their first, and only, home match of the season at Benvenue Country Club. This match brought 4 conference teams to Rocky Mount to compete.

This season is the beginning of many firsts for the team. Aside from the lone senior, Zach Fulcher, the team is predominately composed of middle school students and underclassmen. The team also added two girls to this historically all male team, Maxwell Miller and Emily Cheston. These new additions have only added to the amount of talent on the team. After losing quite a few seniors from last year, this year’s team is quickly finding its way.

At home matches the team that hosts is allowed to let all their team members play, but only count the top 6 players’ scores. This year’s top 6 includes Zach Fulcher, Paul Larimer, Rob Turnage, Christopher Gardner, Andersen Cobb, and Caleb Lambert. RMA ended the match in 2^nd place, behind the Oakwood. “It was definitely bittersweet to play my last my last match last Monday”, said Zach “but I can tell that the team is progressing nicely, this year will be a lot of fun.” Zach ended the day with the lowest score on the team at a 43. The team is looking forward to an away match at North Green hosted by crosstown rival Faith Christian School on Monday, March 23^rd.
