One of our three Senior Spotlights this week is on long-time RMA student (she joined us in Kindergarten) and key member of the Class of 2026, Landry Miller.
You may already know Landry as half of RMA’s numerous sets of twins–her twin brother, Gehrig, was at RMA until this year–though her younger sister, Berkeley, could also easily be her twin; they’re always together! This suits Landry just fine because she is very family-oriented. She plays Scrabble with her grandparents, scrapbooks with her mom, and watches movies and football with her dad when the whole family isn’t attending a game in person. Sports is truly something that brings the Miller family together, but Landry isn’t just a spectator.
Athletics have always been Landry’s strong suit: she has two state championships to her name (one in basketball, one in softball) and has competed at the highest level every year she has played for RMA teams. For example, Landry started playing varsity softball in just the seventh grade, filling the positions of shortstop, pitcher, and third baseman. She was also named all-state as a freshman and junior,all-conference five times (7th – 11th grade). Wit

h so much talent in softball, it’s no surprise that she was selected as captain for four seasons! Landry has also played varsity volleyball (as a setter and outside hitter) and basketball (guard) since the eighth grade. Finally, Landry has also supported her fellow athletes by cheering for two years (10th and 11th).
Although contributing to RMA athletics might be what has made her RMA-famous, Landry is also active in many clubs, such as Beta Club, the Spanish Honor Society, the National Honor Society, Stronger Together, and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. FCA is Landry’s favorite club, as she is strongly rooted in her faith and enjoys sports, so it’s great to bring those two interests together.
Sports and extracurriculars take up a good bit of Landry’s day, but she still makes time to follow a rigorous academic schedule. Landry has always challenged herself in the classroom and continues to as a senior by taking Honors Calculus, AP English 12, AP Biology, and AP Psychology. Enrolled in Spanish IV this year, Landry is also one of fifteen seniors taking her world language studies as far as she can before heading off to college.
Speaking of college, Landry will soon be applying to Tennessee, LSU, Ole Miss, NC State, South Carolina, and Auburn, and intends to major in broadcast journalism. Her dream is to be either a sports reporter or a sports journalist reporting on college football for ESPN, so be sure to look for Landry on TV in a few years!
