One of our Senior Spotlights this issue is on future NC State student Henry Dunton. Henry has been a proud member of the RMA community since his freshman year, and if he were to describe himself in a few words, they would be funny and humble. His humor and humility have made him tons of friends, so when he is not at school, Henry enjoys spending time playing a lighthearted game of poker or a round of golf with his classmates and other friends. 

Although an easy-going guy, Henry takes his education seriously. This year, he is enrolled in AP Biology, AP Psychology, Honors English 12, Honors Calculus, and French 4. Along with these difficult classes, Henry participates in many clubs, such as Key Club and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and he has an internship with the Exceptional Children’s Program where he goes every day to help our exceptional students with any work they are doing or just fun extracuriculars like basketball or card and board games. When William, a student in RMA’s middle school EC program, was asked what he liked about working with Henry, he said, “My favorite thing to do with Henry is play cops and robbers in the playground!”

Beyond the classroom, Henry has balanced his educational pursuits with his involvement in athletics, contributing to many different RMA sports, such as basketball as a guard in his freshman, sophomore, and senior years; soccer from his sophomore through senior years; and baseball from his freshman through senior years as an outfielder. Henry says his favorite sport is soccer because he gets to practice and then share the field on game day with many of his best friends–students like Stone Ramey and Carter Ingram. Although he committed to NC State months ago, Henry also received acceptances from UNC-Wilmington and East Carolina University. At NC State, Henry plans to major in history, and after this, he wants to enter law school and become an attorney.
