One of our Senior Spotlights for this week focuses on Carter Ingram, who joined the RMA family in the sixth grade. He describes himself as competitive, hardworking, and diligent, and as one of his friends, I can add to this list by describing him as someone who is kind and makes a good friend. He knows how to lighten the mood with his quick humor and is someone I can always joke with.

Being the hard worker he is, Carter is finishing off Upper School strong, taking French IV–which he says is his favorite class because it is fun and interactive–Honors Calculus, Honors English, AP Psychology, and AP Biology. Along with these classes, he also spends time helping in the Exceptional Children’s rooms and has volunteered at the Special Olympics and the EC Proms over the years. Carter says his favorite thing about these activities is seeing the children smile.
Although he played basketball his freshman year and has played golf since sophomore year, Carter’s main sport is soccer, and he has been an important addition to the roster since eighth grade. He plays midfield and received the Coaches Award in eleventh grade for his outstanding performance and attitude. Along with his participation in sports, Carter is also involved in RMA clubs such as the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and BETA Club, which is an organization that promotes scholarship and service. In Carter’s free time, he enjoys playing golf, riding his boat at the beach, and occasionally playing cards with his friends.

Although he has some great RMA memories to look back on–like decorating for the prom junior year and going to long lunch with his friends–Carter is ready to move on to college! He applied to NC State, UNCW, and ECU. Growing up, Carter has always been a big fan of the Wolfpack, so he is excited to have committed to State to pursue a degree in business so that he can take over his dad’s construction company, Ingram Construction, someday.
