I have known Grace Bone as long as I can remember, so I am beyond excited to write her Senior Spotlight for this

edition of The Eagle Examiner. Our parents have worked together forever, and I will always treasure my memories of growing up seeing Grace around the Nottingham Company’s office, stealing candy off the employees’ desks! She is one of our few resident “lifers,” being here since Pre-K, and when I came in fourth grade, knowing at least one other student made my transition so much easier.
One of the most important things to know about my friend Grace is what a good student she is. Leading up to her senior year, Grace has received numerous honors for her work, such as Excellence in Spanish I and II, Excellence in Honors English 11, Highest Average in Honors Pre-Calculus, and Highest Average in AP Biology. She is continuing to do well in her senior classes too: Honors Spanish IV, Honors Calculus, AP English, AP Environmental Science, AP Psychology, and Ceramics.
A dedicated member of the Eagle family, Grace has been involved in clubs and school activities like Key Club, Beta Club, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, the Spanish Honors Society Secretary, the National Honor Society, and the Global Studies Honors Program. As if that isn’t enough, she also works at ASE (After School Enrichment).
On the athletics end of her many extracurriculars, Grace has played midfielder for the girls varsity soccer team in the

ninth, eleventh, and twelfth grades and has been on the varsity girls tennis team for all four years of high school. She also enjoys playing these sports outside of school with her friends. One of these friends is fellow senior and tennis teammate Frances Tharin, who says, “I’m so thankful that I have gotten to grow up with Grace. She truly is the most dependable friend, and I know that I can always count on her. I will miss her so much next year, but I know she will do great things.”
Speaking of next year, Grace has decided to pursue education for the long term, applying as an Elementary Education major at NC State, ECU, South Carolina, and UNCW. She has lots of great options, as she has received acceptances from all of these schools as well as the ECU Honors College. She currently sees herself attending NC State but has not committed to a college just yet. Knowing her patient and calm manner, Grace will make a fantastic elementary teacher, and I know her future is nothing short of bright. We could not be more excited to support her as she pursues the next chapters of her life and wish her the best of luck in her upcoming journey.
