Number 5 on the varsity football, basketball, and baseball teams, Jordan Wright is an outstanding athlete and member of the Class of 2024 who joined RMA his freshman year. He describes himself as respectful and confident, and his classmates would add that “he is quiet.” Even though he keeps to himself in the classroom, his friendly personality shines through when hanging out with friends or showing off his talents on a field or court.
For his senior year, Jordan is taking English 12, Algebra III Trigonometry, Ecology, Economics, Sports Medicine, and Weightlifting. Jordan says his favorite class is math because “he understands it the most” and he “has a great math teacher” (that would be Mrs. Helms!). He is also involved in clubs such as Fellowship of Christian Athletes. One thing you may not know about Jordan is that he fishes from time to time.
Jordan is applying to East Carolina University and is still deciding on where else he can see himself… but he knows that his future will involve sports! According to senior Luke Holloman, “I love the way he always wants to compete and his drive to be the best. …he always has a good time on and off the field. His passion for the game is greater than anyone I know.” Even though Jordan is a top athlete in basketball and football, his heart is set on baseball. He has been playing travel baseball from a very young age and wants to continue his baseball career through college with the hopes of eventually playing professionally in the MLB. His dream is to play for the New York Yankees as a shortstop because his favorite baseball player is Derek Jeter. Jordan was asked, “What is your favorite place and why?” and he answered, “The baseball field, that is where I want to be in the future.” I have no doubt that Jordan will be successful in his baseball career along with his academic career, and we wish him the best!
