Christmas Break!

Hopefully, everyone had a restful Christmas and New Year’s holiday, spending plenty of time with family and friends. Now that we are all back from our much-needed break and ready to face 2023, we wanted to share all the fun things our Media Office did over Christmas break!

Many of us stayed close to home and spent fulfilling time with families. Our editor, Virginia Feagans, took a trip to visit her aunt in Greensboro. They baked cookies, visited Christmas lights, and went shopping! Sounds like the perfect family trip. Mary Kimbrell had a great time hanging out with both sides of her family. She also got to spend some time with her friends when she headed down to the beach to celebrate New Year’s! Gabbi Ams got to hang out with her family and friends as she enjoyed spending Christmas with her grandparents and cute little cousins playing creative family games. For New Year’s, she also headed down to the beach for an exciting weekend, hanging out with friends and watching fireworks over the water in downtown Manteo to ring in the year.

While many of us stayed in NC, a couple of us took a trip to a different state! Sarah Cathryne went to Tennessee to spend quality time with her grandparents, playing games and baking cookies since the passing storm left them in -1 degree weather. My experience was very different since I journeyed to California for a week and enjoyed much warmer weather. I had a super fun time exploring LA (my favorite thing was touring the Warner Brothers studio) and the different parks! I hung out at the beach for the weekend with a few friends to celebrate New Year’s!

After the annual staff Christmas party at Camp Albemarle, Mari Robin celebrated her 18th birthday with her camp friends before coming back home to celebrate with her Rocky Mount friends!

We all had a wonderful holiday and hope yours was just as amazing!Chr
