Outgoing, fun, and joyful are the words best used to describe one of Rocky Mount Academy’s most amusing members of the senior class, Cason Price, who joined RMA at the start of his sophomore year and quickly became part of our family. Close friend Will Tharin states, “Cason has great hair, is really good at fishing, and is one of the most interesting people I know.” For Will and others who know him, it is safe to say that Cason can make you laugh without fail and is always smiling; he carries a cheerful and lively nature wherever he goes. He can start a conversation with anyone and makes sure everyone feels recognized and valued. A truly well-mannered individual, never short of “yes ma’am’s” or “no sir’s,” Cason is the epitome of a true Southern gentleman.

Cason’s schedule includes Algebra III Trig, AP Biology, Ecology, English 12, Sports Management, and Weightlifting. Cason excels in the classroom, earning himself a spot on the Honors List every trimester. Outside of the classroom, you can be sure to find Cason on some type of field whether it’s hovering over one in a deer stand or catching on the baseball field. Combining his love of sports and spending time with friends, he is a member of the FCA. Cason also co-founded the Bass Fishing Club because of his passion for life on the water.  Cason has won numerous awards at fishing tournaments on the national level and is sure to receive many more. One example is when Cason and classmate Gabe Winham won the North Carolina Bassmaster High School tournament on Kerr Lake back in 2021. It is due to this success and passion that Cason will continue to bass fish at the next level. It has always been a dream of his. As Cason explains, “I’ve prayed day in and day out on finding the dream school that felt like home. I am extremely blessed and honored that I have committed to Carson Newman University to further my academic and fishing career.” He is guaranteed to impress all those around.

Cason has committed to attending Carson Newman University in the fall and actually had his signing ceremony today (Friday, November 4). I believe that I speak for everyone when I say that Cason is sure to accomplish many great things, and we are all looking forward to seeing what the future has in store for such a special guy!
