Upcoming State Play

This year, the talent of our student-athletes in RMA fall sports is astounding! It is no surprise that some of our varsity teams have received byes in the bracket for a state championship. Although some of the teams are still playing regular season games, our volleyball, soccer, and girls tennis teams are gearing up for state play.

Boys varsity soccer has played a great season and are preparing for the first round of state play at home against Neuse Christian Academy. If they advance, they will travel to the Epiphany School for the second round. The winner will go on to face Trinity Academy. Good luck to our varsity boys; we’re all rooting you on!

Our varsity volleyball team has had an unstoppable season with a record of 24-1, making them undefeated in conference play and conference champions. With this record, they are ranked 4th in the 2A state bracket with a bye to the third round. On Saturday, Oct. 22nd, they will face  Wayne Country Day. Assuming the Eagles are successful on Saturday, the fourth round will be held Tuesday, Oct. 25th at the higher seed. This has been an amazing year for our varsity girls, and we can’t wait to see how far they go!

Our girls varsity tennis, ranked 5th with a bye to the second round, will face Fayetteville Academy for their first match of state play. If they advance to the third round, they will face either Trinity Academy or Carolina Friends School. Good luck girls, we believe in you!!

Although state play has begun for some, a few RMA teams are still finishing out their regular season. Cross country competed in the CIC championship on Thursday, Oct. 20, before advancing to states. Varsity football has one more game to play before their bye week, followed by the first round of state play on Nov. 4th.

I know I am not the only one excited to see how our Eagles compete at the state level. We are all so proud of our student-athletes, and we are all cheering you on!
