Spirit Week Recap

Last week at RMA was Spirit Week, which always proves to be an exciting week for all students and faculty, and this year was no exception. Even with Hurricane Ian closing school on Friday, RMA students still went all out for Spirit Week, though the Homecoming game had to be moved to Thursday night.

Monday: Pajama Day! Pajama Day is an iconic theme for Spirit Week, and it wouldn’t be the same without it. Students and teachers alike wore their comfiest pajamas to start Spirit Week off strong.

Tuesday: Anything-But-A-Backpack Day! Without a doubt, this was the most exciting Spirit Week theme this year. Students from every grade went all out, from shopping carts to electric cars. Although some teachers weren’t too happy with shopping carts and wheelbarrows in their rooms, Anything-But-A-Backpack Day proved to be a favorite among students.

Wednesday: Holiday Day! Students came to school sporting their favorite holidays in creative ways! The most popular holiday proved to be Christmas, although Halloween is right around the corner. The Powderpuff football game was also Wednesday night, with teams of seniors and juniors facing sophomores and freshmen. The seniors and juniors pulled off a win!

Thursday: Spirit Day! The final day of Spirit Week ended with its staple, Spirit Day. Students showed off all the RMA pride they could wear and got to celebrate at the Homecoming pep rally, where Isaac Lewis was crowned Homecoming King. The Homecoming football game was also on Thursday night with our Varsity boys hosting Wayne Christian Academy, winning 42-40. Mary Kimbrell Livermon was crowned Homecoming Queen.
