Since it is officially fall and the weather is starting to cool down, it’s time to start engaging in some fall activities to get into this season’s spirit! If you do not know where to start, or just want some suggestions, continue reading for some great ideas.

The best ways to enjoy fall at Rocky Mount Academy is to attend one of the home football games! Even though the season is well underway, it is not too late to watch the team play. Always a fun and exciting way to kick off your weekend, football is an essential fall event that you should try not to miss.

Baking is a very fun way to get into the fall spirit, and there is definitely not a lack of recipes! One of the best ways to bake in the flavor of fall would be to make pumpkin muffins. They are quick and easy to whip up, not to mention an extremely tasty snack or breakfast option. One of the best recipes was posted two weeks ago on the Eagle Examiner! If you haven’t tried it yet, you should seriously consider it. If pumpkin muffins aren’t quite your speed, one tried and true easy fall staple would be the Pillsbury Halloween sugar cookies. My personal favorite is the pumpkin design, but they also come in ghost form. These are also super quick to bake. All you have to do is place a few on a sheet pan, pop them in the oven for about eleven minutes, and enjoy. One of the most classic examples of fall activities is pumpkin picking. Pumpkins are one of the first things that come to mind when thinking about fall, a classic decoration. I think everyone will agree when I say it is so much more fun to go to a pumpkin patch to pick out your pumpkin yourself. The best place around Rocky Mount to pick your own pumpkin would be Volmer Farms. They have many different pumpkins to choose from, ranging from small to large, and come in all different shapes and colors, everything from orange to white to green. It is a fun activity for families and friends alike, and you should definitely be sure to check it out! After you have chosen your pumpkin and taken it home, you can carve it and scoop out the seeds and bake them into another fall snack!

Halloween is arguably the most thought-of event when it comes to fall, and one of the most entertaining ways to bring the Halloween spirit into your life is  to watch movies, of which there are plenty of scary and family-friendly options available. If you want a movie to watch with your family or small children, Halloweentown, Hocus Pocus, and The Nightmare Before Christmas are some fail-safe options that everyone in the family is sure to enjoy. If you are in the market for more “spooky” movies, Scream and Halloween are some scary classics that are as good the first time you watch them as the are the second, third, or even tenth time you watch them!

I really hope this list has given you some great ideas for your next fall activity and have a great start to your fall season!
