RMA sports have been nothing short of amazing this year thanks to our awesome coaches and athletes. This past week (September 5-9), there were 17 athletic events, both home and away. Below are just a few highlights.

Volleyball had a great week, facing Trinity Academy on Tuesday, The Oakwood School on Thursday, and Faith Christian on Friday. Highlights from the week include the MS team’s defeat of Oakwood in two sets, marking their third win of the season. Aniston Flowers and Khloe Doan led the team in service points. The JV girls powered through for the win against Trinity Academy on Tuesday in just two sets, while our Varsity girls defeated Trinity in four sets with amazing defense from Alex Gardener, Mackenzie Davis, and Ella Gray Corey. Varsity Volleyball’s game against Faith, which they won in three sets, was the standout match of the week. Mackenzie Davis led the team at the net, along with McKenna Rogers and Kaylee Wright.

Varsity Soccer also had a fantastic week, remaining undefeated in conference play. Defense from Mark Weaver and Kent Brantley and goals from Will Tharin, Colin Baker, and Colin Agan led to Varsity Soccer’s 3-1 win over The Oakwood School on Thursday, while goals from Thomas Honey and Holden Haggerty, along with a shutout in the goal by Mark Weaver, led Varsity Soccer to a 3-0 win over Faith on Friday.

RMA Football continued to be a powerhouse this past week, with wins from both JV and Varsity. The JV Football team defeated St. David’s School at home on Thursday, 30-8. Varsity Football traveled to Lawrence Academy and continued their winning season with a 59-12 win on Friday.

With such an amazing start to the school season, I know I’m not alone in looking forward to more sports this year from our amazing student athletes. Let’s go Eagles!
