Grandparent’s Day at RMA!

Julia High, Social Media Chair

This Friday, September 16th, was grandparents day at RMA. Grandparents’ Day is one of our most special traditions at RMA. Grands from all over travel for this event. This year we even had a grandparent fly in from another country! Every September, RMA hosts our lower school students’ Grandparents as an opportunity for students to introduce their grands to their teachers and friends as well as show off their classrooms, cubbies, and desks. This year held no exception. The grands met in the cafeteria where they watched the lower school’s performance to the theme of the 60s and 70s. Each grade added their own touch by dressing to their own theme. 5th graders, for example, dressed as cowgirls and cowboys which included: overalls, plaid shirts, big hats, braids, and lots of boots. Other grades had their own themes including: American colors, hippies, and all black for the Adams family. After the music portion of the morning, the students and grands went back to their homerooms. Each homeroom had a slightly different activity planned, but for the most part the students and their special guests did a craft together as well as seeing and hearing about some of the things the students do daily.

The day was full of smiles and laughs for students and grands alike. Grandparents’ Day is always a very special day on campus and a great way for grands to get to see the loving, caring environment we get to be a part of everyday.
