Top 10 Super Bowl 50 Commercials

This year’s Super Bowl game was a slugfest reminiscent of defensives struggles that defined the NFL decades ago– which is a nice way to say that the game itself was pretty boring. Nonetheless, it is hard to argue commercials and the halftime show were not entertaining. The halftime show brought in Coldplay and subsidized their performance (responses to their performance itself range from “bland” to “pretty good”) with heavy doses of Beyoncé and Bruno Mars. The commercials were decidedly weirder this year, notably the “puppymonkeybaby” marketing ploy from Mountain Dew Kickstart (a breakfast energy drink) which, depending on who you ask, was pathetically trying to go viral or actually really creepy.
