This week’s senior spotlight features volleyball standout and honor roll student, Bridget Ward. Bridget joined the RMA family in 7th grade when she moved here from New Jersey. She had no trouble fitting in as she immediately joined the volleyball team, and has been a key player on the team ever since. She was awarded the Coaches’ Award in 9th grade, MVP in 10th grade, and is currently the team captain. She has also contributed her talents to the Varsity Cheerleading team since 9th grade. She has been a leader on the team all four years and is currently a team captain.

Academically, she maintains a rigorous course load taking all AP and honors classes. She has also been on the A/B Honor Roll throughout high school and received several academic awards. She is very involved in school life as a member of the Key Club, Debate Club, and Student Booster Club, where she is the secretary. Bridget also tutors lower school students through STARs during her study hall. Outside of school, Bridget has volunteered at the hospital and tutoring students at lower school in Wilson.

Everyone knows Bridget by her bright smile and giggly laugh. She is well known on campus by all ages. Lower schoolers adore her from her help with lower school cheerleading squad, STARs, working at Pitstoppe, or baby sitting on the weekends. Whenever they see her, they are sure to chase her down in the court yard to give her a hug. When classmate Connor Daughtridge was asked about Bridget, she said “Bridget is just an all-around fun person. She’s super generous, and can always make me laugh”. Bridget’s friendly disposition and bright smile will definitely be missed at RMA next year. Make sure to check out the interview below to get to know her better!
