Throughout the year, members of the senior class have received numerous acceptances from their top choice schools, however, not all members of the RMA community know where seniors will be going next fall or what majors and careers students are interested in. Out of the 33 members of the Class of 2016,  a handful of seniors stand out due to unique interests, athletic participation in college, scholarships, and other accomplishments.

In comparison to his other classmates, Davis Brown won the most scholarship money after winning a spot in the Morehead-Cain class of 2020 at UNC-Chapel Hill. Before accepting this scholarship, Davis had to consider another admission offer from Stanford.

Belle Rose was the first to be accepted to college. After applying binding admission to Meredith College, Belle was notified of her acceptance and enrollment in late September, before the majority of seniors had submitted a single application. Because of her love for children that she discovered while working at After School Enrichment throughout high school, Belle has decided to major in elementary education.

Jami Perkins will be majoring in marine biology at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington for the next four years. Jami hopes to study various forms of marine life, but anyone that is friends with her knows her love for whales and that she hopes to study them extensively in the future.

Andy Ramirez, Olivia Turnage, Jack Thorp and Katie Gutshall will each be attending schools out of state: College of Charleston, University of Georgia, Clemson University, and University of South Carolina respectively. Although the majority of RMA graduates usually attend college within North Carolina, this year’s graduating class has a particularly low number of students that plan to go out of state.

Gage Chilton will be attending Methodist University in Fayetteville, NC to play football. Similar to Gage, Hunter Franks will be attending Louisburg College in Louisburg, NC to play soccer.
